Friday Deployment: Initializing 2026
The year 2026 has officially been initialized. I started this Friday morning by clearing the cache—packing away the New Year decorations. There is something satisfying about boxing up the ornaments, resetting the living room state, and preparing the system for a fresh runtime.
But looking at the schedule for the rest of the day, I realize we are facing a major infrastructure upgrade.
The Scalability Issue (Baby #2)
With the second child arriving soon, our current housing layout is facing a scalability issue. The legacy code (our current furniture setup) won’t support the new user load. Today’s mission is the ultimate stress test: IKEA on a Friday.
We are heading out shortly to procure the assets for the room transition. In my head, I’m already trying to optimize the pathing through the store to minimize latency, but I know once we hit the Marketplace section, all efficiency metrics go out the window.
The Feature Request (Ninjas)
My son has just submitted a high-priority feature request: Lego Ninjas. He is currently developing a strong interest in the “Superhero” class. As a parent, I see this as an investment in his spatial reasoning. I’ve added a stop at the toy section to today’s deployment plan.
System Idle Time (Cycling)
“I’m looking at my road bike right now. It’s gathering dust. The Munich winter is brutal today… My physical velocity is currently zero, and I can feel the restlessness. I need to find a way to keep the engine running even when the environment is frozen.”
Context Switching (The Advisory Work)
The hardest part of today will be the resource allocation. While I’m navigating flat-pack boxes, I also have a queue of messages from my advisory network back in Tehran. There are some brilliant teams there asking the right questions about OKRs and engineering velocity.
I need to find a quiet 30-minute window—maybe over Swedish meatballs—to switch contexts from “Dad” to “Strategic Advisor” and unblock them.
